Their Fire
Sweating palms clamped together
The sun burns the pupil
Water crashes against the shore
Bare feet and sunscreen
Salty, seawater lips
Beach bums on the sand
Never letting go
Day turned to night
Sun to moon
Taking their fire
Clammy palms falling down
Dry, cracked lips
Winter takes over as
The air turns cold
The sun burns the pupil
Water crashes against the shore
Bare feet and sunscreen
Salty, seawater lips
Beach bums on the sand
Never letting go
Day turned to night
Sun to moon
Taking their fire
Clammy palms falling down
Dry, cracked lips
Winter takes over as
The air turns cold
I'm not really sure what inspired me to write this, but whatever it was, I'm glad it did. This is probably my favorite poem that I have ever written. I buried myself inside my own emotions and this is what resulted.
